Hamilton has emerged as a hub for creativity and entrepreneurship, but it lacked a dedicated publication to showcase the people shaping its cultural and artistic identity. With the launch of Hamilton City Magazine, there was an opportunity to tell those stories through strong, in-depth feature writing that would define its voice and build credibility.
Since Hamilton City Magazine’s inaugural issue, Vanessa has regularly pitched and contributed feature stories, interviewing a range of prominent Hamiltonians, from Indigenous leaders and philanthropists to award-winning chefs and musicians, crafting in-depth profiles that highlight the diversity of talent across the city.
Vanessa has contributed more than 15 feature articles to Hamilton City Magazine, helping shape the publication’s voice through consistent, high-quality storytelling. She continues to be commissioned by the editorial team, and her 2023 cover story Women on Fire won a Canadian Online Publishing Award.
